Tristan Strong Keeps Punching: Cover Blog

The most anticipated cover of all time - TRISTAN STRONG KEEPS PUNCHING adding with the flaming covers of the whole trilogy was released by Kwame Mbalia, the author of Tristan Strong series. I can't wait to discuss the whole thing and so here comes a short blog/article. It won't be big like the others.

It shows all the three trinkets of Tristan which wasn't done in the second book. Though the last two had punching gloves, this cover doesn't have gloves which is not a problem according to the plot. The "Tristan uniform of choice" wasn't present in this cover. Instead Tristan was wearing a t-shirt with the name TRISTAN on it and plus another art. Then he had shorts. The High John afokena gloves were seen too and that looks too dramatic.

And this is the first cover featuring our favorite Gum Baby. She is also going for the same move. Like all the covers, Tristan and the other characters with him are in fighting stance or moving posture. And this is the first cover where Tristan seemed rebellious by his shouting face.

We're still not sure from which part of the plot this whole cover was illustrated. But they seem near a water body and there are some kind of structures behind them. Eric Wilkerson skillfully chose the High John gloves to cover most of the background by it's illumination. It has hidden much of the plot, but gave the readers an excitement to see this particular moment.

Now, back to Gum Baby. She seem to be flying in the air. Her grip is clutched like Tristan to punch the bad guy. She also seem to be wearing her old clothes. I like her shoes too - sooo tiny!

The first cover featured John Henry with Tristan and the second cover featured Ayanna and Tristan. Here are the links: Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky and Tristan Strong Destroys the World.

We're waiting for the book to come on October 5th, 2021 and soon it will blaze the bookstores. Here's the synopsis by Read Riordan:

Best-selling author Rick Riordan presents the finale of Kwame Mbalia’s trilogy, in which Tristan Strong faces off with his archenemy, King Cotton, once and for all. After reuniting with Ayanna, who is now in his world, Tristan travels up the Mississippi in pursuit of his archenemy, King Cotton. Along the way they encounter new haints who are dead set on preventing their progress north to Tristan’s hometown of Chicago. It’s going to take many Alkean friends, including the gods themselves, the black flames of the afokena gloves, and all of Tristan’s inner strength to deliver justice once and for all. Shocking twists, glorious triumphs, and a cast of unforgettable characters make this series conclusion as satisfying as it is entertaining.

I am waiting for the sneak-peek to come up. And I hope you're doing that too.
